Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that the University of California has received an Agilent Research Catalyst (ARC) award on behalf of Professor Marie Heffern at the UC Davis campus. The award recognizes Professor Heffern’s innovative research into the analytical characterization of peptide and protein therapeutics targeting incretin and related pathways, an emerging area critical to advancing treatments for diabetes and obesity. Additional Information:
- Proposals incorporating novel analytical approaches and automation of workflows to enhance the development, characterization, and quality of these compounds are encouraged. Analytical technologies that incorporate AI/ML are of interest.
- Please note that this opportunity is exclusively focused on the analytical characterization of peptide- and protein-based therapeutics. Applications involving small molecule therapeutics will not be considered.
Institution and Applicant eligibility
- Institution must be a degree-granting academic or a non-profit research institution.
- Applicant must hold a tenure-tracked faculty position and be authorized to serve as a principal investigator for research contracts and principal advisor of doctoral candidates at the institution.
Award Details
- Research projects should be scoped for a 3-year period with a total requested budget up to $500K (USD). Cash award is provided to the institution in the name of the awardee, in equal annual installments over the funding period. Awards have no deliverables and must be free of overhead or other fees.
- Awardee will receive an engraved plaque commemorating award, presented in a
suitable ceremony. - Awardee will be invited to visit and present research seminar at Agilent site
(expenses covered). - Awardee will be featured on ARC website.
